25m indoor pool including adjacent Health Suite and Bistro with roof top car park.
TLH Leisure Resort commissioned Kay Elliott Architects to design a new Leisure
Centre piece in the heart of their group of hotels in Torquay. The development comprises a 25m Aztec themed indoor pool with adjacent Health Suite and Bistro (shell only) overlooking the pool. This further served to link the Victoria, Derwent and Carlton Hotels with a rooftop car park. Constructed on a very restrictive site, the building was sunk into the ground to avoid impeding sea views from the existing hotels and was successfully completed on a Partnering basis over 13 months with minimal disruption to the guests at a cost of £2.8 million.
The fit out of the health suite was subsequently completed in 2003. |
